POLYAMINE
SR Polyamine is an organic compound having two or more primary amino groups Low-molecular-weight linear polyamines perform essential functions in oil well drilling. The drilling fluid is mainly composed of polyamine with strong inhibiting effect and MEG with the primary role of lubrication, lowering filtrate and inhibiting function. The drilling fluid has high lubricating property and strong inhibitory, and the performances of evaluation system approach the level of oil-based drilling fluid. Field application shows that polyamine imitation oil-based drilling fluid has the advantages such as stability performance, a wide range of density regulation, rheological easy to control, small amount of fluid loss and the thin cake, good toughness, effectively inhibiting shale hydration dispersed, and maintaining the borehole wall stable.
The properties of polyamine water-based drilling fluid including inhibition, lubrication and toxicity were evaluated compared with other inhibitive water-based drilling fluids and conventional oil-based drilling fluid. Results show the fluid outperforms other water-based drilling fluids and approaches to the performance of oil-based drilling fluid. Furthermore, the system is non-toxic and environmental friendly, superior to oil-based drilling fluid.
Polyamine is liquid cationic polymers of different molecular weight which work efficiently as primary coagulants and charge neutralization agents in liquid-solid separation processes in drilling application.
